Maria’s Mexican Marinade

Ingredients

1/3 cup white vinegar
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1/3 cup cilantro (fresh, chopped)
1/4 cup water
3 cloves garlic (minced)
Juice of 1 lime
1 tablespoon cumin
1 tablespoon Mexican oregano (dried)
1 tablespoon sea salt
2 teaspoons chili powder (mild)
2 teaspoons black pepper
1 teaspoon ancho chili powder

Directions

Combine all of the marinade ingredients.

Store the marinade in a plastic or glass container with a lid. It will keep in the refrigerator for up to five days after preparation.

Marinating Times:
Marinate beef, lamb, and pork for about six to 12 hours. It can remain in the marinade for up to five days.

Marinate poultry for up to four hours. It can remain in the marinade safely for up to two days.

Marinate fish for 30 minutes to one hour.

Marinate shrimp for 15 to 30 minutes. Do not marinate longer or they will get mushy.
