Best Salmon Marinade

Ingredients

1 (2-pound) salmon fillet, cut into 6-ounce fillets

1/4 cup olive oil
1/3 cup soy sauce
3 tablespoons lemon juice
1 tablespoon mild honey
1 tablespoon brown sugar, optional
1 tablespoon parsley, chopped
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon lemon zest, finely grated
salt, to taste
pepper, to taste

Directions

Use a paper towel to pat the salmon dry.

Discard any remaining bones within the salmon.

In a medium-liquid measuring cup, combine the oil, soy sauce, lemon juice, honey, brown sugar, parsley, garlic, lemon zest, salt, and pepper.

Use a whisk to thoroughly combine the marinade.

In a large, resealable zip-top bag, place the salmon and the marinade.

Remove the excess air from the bag and place the sealed bag in a shallow dish.

Place the salmon marinade in the fridge for at least 30 minutes and up to 1 hour.

Preheat the grill to 400-450 degrees F or the oven to 375 degrees F.

Bake or grill the marinated salmon until the fish reaches an internal temperature of 145 degrees F, is opaque, and flakes easily, about 12-15 minutes when baking and 8-10 minutes when grilling. If baking, place the salmon in an oiled, shallow dish. If grilling, oil the grates well, place the salmon skin-side down first, and flip halfway through.

Allow the cooked salmon to rest for 5 minutes.

Serve.
